King Salmon Guides' Wilderness Float Trips
The Guided Wilderness Float Trips include: Guides: Our guides are Orvis-endorsed, fully insured Coast Guard Captains. They are friendly and helpful and they'll put you where the fish are! Our guides are extremely knowledgeable about all species of fish and where to find them. Fly-out: King Salmon Guides will fly you to either the Alagnak River or the Moraine River and of course, fly you back to King Salmon at the end of your trip. Choice of Raft: Depending on your desires and level of of experience, King Salmon Guides provides both 16 foot rafts and 1-man Water Master rafts to choose from. The 16 foot rafts have a rowing frame, oars, patch kit and high speed inflation pump. They are durable, comfortable, and can accommodate a maximum of three people. You will be fishing from the raft while floating. The 1-man Water Master rafts are quite versatile. By having an open bottom, they allow you to walk your raft, and to stand up when you encounter shallow shallow sections to fish. The Water Master rafts weigh approximately 30 pounds and are self-bailing. If you choose the 1-man raft, you must have rafting experience and be willing to row. Camp Accommodations: Camping on the river is the best way to get the most out of your trip to Alaska. Our camps are comfortable, functional, and well-equipped. We bring a large cook tent for eating, and provide tables and chairs. Clients sleep 2 to a tent. You must bring your own 0 degree sleeping bag. Tent/camp set-up and breakdown is necessary on the clients' behalf, but is very minimal. Meals: Our food is great! Your guides will prepare all the fresh, hearty meals. While this is not gourmet dining, you won't leave the table disappointed or hungry. The cooking is done either over an open fire or on propane stoves for breakfast and dinner. Lunches are usually sandwiches. We do take special dietary requests; just let us know when you book your trip. *Guided floats trips are available on the Moraine River only, and run August and September, . |
