Over the last couple of years we have been setting up mobile outcamps to be able to overnight in precise fishing locations.  These remote outcamps are situated on precise locations depending on the season and salmon species we are targeting.  Often located on the sand flats of the lower Alagnak, we know which sand flats we can line anglers up on and hook into these big Alaska salmon.  As part of our Orvis Endorsed Expeditions we provide each outcamp with top of the line Cabelas  Extream camping gear including: 10x10 tents, kitchen tent, Colman stoves, lanterns, cots and sleeping pads, all in a comfortable wilderness setting on the lower Alagnak River.        

 Often times the most productive fishing for Salmon is done either in the early morning or evening hours of the day.  We have found that often times it is too foggy to get out in the mornings and access downriver tide-water locations as early as we want.  On the flip side, it is difficult to access these specific areas and get back to the lodge in the evening. This is why these Salmon Outcamps work great!  These camp usually only operate 2-3 weeks out of the whole summer to target the King Salmon runs and Silver Salmon run.      

Have you ever been on the river and thought, “I don’t want to go back to the lodge yet, we are just starting to get into them?” Well, now you don’t have to!  Reel in your line after you cant see your hand in front of your face and then go have some dinner prepared by our guides and have a cold one by the campfire.  After one night at the outcamp most anglers opt to come back up to the lodge and continue salmon fishing or get back into the trophy trout fishing.

We have had a lot of success on the lower Alagnak River setting up these outcamps to target prime Silver Salmon and King Salmon fishing spots.  These trips are can be an option for our lodge based guests or if anglers are looking for a cheap alternative we can set up groups on week long Outcamp Adventures.
