King Salmon Guides' Wilderness Float Trips

The Alagnak (Branch) River is one of the most diverse rivers in Alaska. It begins with clear, fast water and great Rainbow fishing, and ends with wider, slower water and excellent Salmon fishing. Your adventure begins when we land the float plane on either Kukaklek Lake or Nonvianuk Lake. The Alagnak River receives one of the largest Salmon runs in the world, and it is one of the only rivers in Southwest Alaska classified as a "wild and scenic river". The varied types of terrain, water conditions and wildlife on the Alagnak are second to none, and the diversity of fish makes it a fisherman's dream come true. This beautiful river has a mid-section known as "The Braids". While drifting through the Braids, you'll be overwhelmed by the abundance of scenic areas and pristine wade fishing spots. This is where life-long memories are formed. The lower section, slower and deeper, is where Kings, Chums, and Silver congregate, then move slowly up the river in massive groups. The Alagnak is host to all five species of Pacific Salmon, as well as Rainbow trout, Arctic Char and Grayling. Supported by the rich system of Salmon runs in the millions, the trophy Leopard Rainbows are some of the largest in the world. The Alagnak offers all the Alaskan fish species, and the scenery to go with it. There is no better river in Southwest Alaska for this level of diversity in fishing experiences.
