Accommodations before and after your trip
Most travel itineraries can get you to King Salmon in one day, however it is recommended that you stay overnight in Anchorage to assure that your bags arrive with you the following day in King Salmon. We suggest that you pick up your bags in Anchorage and hand check them at the airport the next morning. Alaska Wilderness Travel can arrange a hotel and car rental near the airport for your convenience. Reservations should be made well in advance. Upon your return from the field, plan on spending a night in King Salmon to clean up, reorganize your gear, and make sure your meat is ready for transportation. Rooms in King Salmon average $190 per double. Travel insurance can be purchased from Alaska Wilderness Travel.

Arrival in King Salmon
Upon arrival in King Salmon, you will be met at the airport by a KSG representative, and escorted to our flyshop where you'll have an opportunity to organize your gear and buy all licenses and permits . After a brief rest and orientation, you'll be flown out to the field in our company float plane.
